Compared with my other two already validated WUs it should bring me ~23K credits, so now the next wait and see period ;)

And I waited, and I saw, and I got 20K less. Just 3.2K for four and a half days of crunching looks really meagre.

Regardless of the credits, I've just got one monster on my machine, seems to be really one, as my wingman is not ready as well, but now there are two more victims, as the deadline has just passed with both of us.
This is the WU
This are the WUs form my machine

It's an EXACT MNIST Convolutional Neural Network Trainer v0.20, and the data from my WU are currently:
CPU-Time last Checkpoint: 83:45:05 current CPU-Time: 83:53:43 estimated remainder: 11:36:58 (which I do not believe ;) Process: 85,657%

Is there anything I could do but to wait and see?

And I waited, and I saw, and it finished fine. I just have to wait for any wingman to be as Patient as I was ;)

Compared with my other two already validated WUs it should brimg me ~23K credits, so now the next wait and see period ;)

lol ... Twice today I've make a comment in a Video about a Chick being Present & @ what time but I didn't Mark the Chick Present Box as Present ... We need an Edit Button bad

I forgot to mark the "Parent away box", 'though I marked the time as well.

I definitely need that Edit button as well!

I had this once as well, and "solved" it in the same way. Just forgot to mention it here, so I was right, that's fine ;)

Any chance of something to crunch, my toes are getting cold ? (Please send chocolate chip cookies to: The Pink Penguin, c/o Shackleton's Hideaway, Cape Royds, Ross Island, Antarctica).

Strange picture of a pink penguin in your profile, doesn't look quite like Antarctica. And does the Goliath Corporation deliver those cookies to your home, wherever that may be?

Regarding the bossa-scheme for the badges: Looks fine with me!

I've just remembered another example: My CPDN account

There's a section called this:
Credit From Other Affiliated climateprediction.net Projects
NB: Classic, Spinup, and Beta Test credits are factored in the above total credit
Seasonal Attribution and BBC Experiment Projects are credited on their particular sites (and the BOINC stats sites)
'Classic' HadSM3 Cobblestone Credits 0.00
HadCM3 Spinup Cobblestone Credits 0.00
Beta Testing 289,928.00
BBC Experiment 0.00

Obviously some people have no Lives with the amount of Bossa Credits they've piled up already or they've found a way to fool the system.

Sometimes I'm watching a lot of the videos during boring telcos...
Using chrome as a browser you can speed up the video by factor 9! A lot of videos are to dark or corrupt. Easy earning of credits too.

Factor 9 is imho a bit too fast, except for the dark ones.
But the factor 5 available for foxes is quite OK. If I see something "fishy", I go back there an watch again in normal speed.

And regarding the badges:
They are fine, and I agree with the lower levels for bossa, because it's imho more demanding then just letting your machine do something.

Badges would be nice. As mentioned by the others here in the forum.

I can try and work on that. Is this build into BOINC by any chance?

I'm not sure, but since every project with badges has their own ones and different requirements for it, I guess this is completely selfmade and selfprogrammed.
AFAIK PrimeGrid and WCG were the first ones with them.

I quote DA from a mail in the _project mailing list:

I don't think it's worth putting a feature into BOINC.
However, if an extra opaque DB field or project-definable PHP
function would help make your badge system easier to maintain, let me know.

So probably no feature included, sorry. I thought it was, as so many projects have them yet.

Where would you like the information? In your profile?

Somewhere in the account page, would be logical under the own credits.
And it would be nice to having it right under the credits
<-- here. ;-)

Absolutely correct!
Should look a bit like this @SETI (as I haven’t crunched Classic, I took DoctorNows account):

With the bossa values instead of the SETI@home classic WUs and times.
11) Message boards : Number Crunching : Badges for bird watchers and/or BOINCies? (Message 505)
Posted 15 Jun 2013 by Profile Saenger
Badges are the new item in BOINC.
They are not (yet) included in the BOINC part of this, I've reached the usual first credit threshold of 10K for bronze, but nothing shows in my account.
OK, in BOINC there are the usual stats pages, where you can "show off" your performance, so they are not such a relevant item there, but for the bird watching part, that is not exported anyhow yet, a badge system would be nice.

Hi there,
is it possible to include the bird watching points in the account as well?
Of course not as added to the BOINC credits, but as another line, like the old WUs from SETI-Classic are mentioned over there.
And as we are with those scores:
Can You add them up for teams as well? Teams are not counted at all for bird watching yet.

According to server_status only one validator is running currently, that's the SURF-one. The Motion validator is broken or shut down or whatever, it's just not working.

I'm gonna bump this down a bit, not quite sure how much, but I still want there to be a good bonus due to the size of the downloads and the fact that the project is still very alpha.

So you will decrease the credits once it's not alpha any more? I don't think this will be a good idea, but I would be fine with it.

The "old-fashioned" projects, that never jumped on the credit inflation band-wagon, like WCG, give quite consistent credits per CPU-hour on a certain machine, on mine that's something between 21 and 25.
The newer projects generally give a bit more credit, perhaps something to do with the new, wrecked, credit calculation scheme from Berkeley, on my machine that's about 30 - 40 C/h.
A quite good granting project, with a kind of bonus system for long running WUs, is RNA-World, with it's checkpointless WUs running sometimes for over a week. The "normal" stuff gives about 45-55 C/h, and the longer ones get a bonus for not switching off the computer for very long times of up to 100%.

My credit calculation is probably. You're saying the workunits giving too much credit?

--Travis

My machine crunches an average of 35 (~25 - 50) credits per hour and core.
Your app gives me something between 220 and 800, average is ~300.

I think everything should be validating successfully now (although there still may be some straggling inconclusives).

Looks fine now.
It's just hat the amount of credits is far beyond good and evil, about the factor 10 too much.

Not.

Started up the validator, messed something up slightly, which will have some of them being flagged inconclusive, but I fixed that quickly and the next pass through they should validate successfully.

After some sleeping and breakfast I just looked at my pendings again, and one was validated, three are inconclusive. Of those tree two are penguin vs. apple, and one is penguin for both. For all three a third result had been sent to another wingman sometimes during the night, so the validator really messed them up.

I got four more, that are simply waiting for the wingmen to get their stuff done, and now the first .03 is running on my machine.

Woops! I know the problem. I had the wrong app specified in the config.xml, so the validator was trying to validate the other application. Should be fixed now.

Please define "now" ;)
Nothing happened until now, so your definition of "now" seems to be a bit more on the day scale than on the minutes.

This is the last week of classes here, so "now" might mean today sometimes. :) I wanted to make a couple modifications to the validator, so that results that might not match up because of the problem with the 0.01 version of the linux application will still get credit.

OK, thanks for the answer. I was just curious.
