...and relax... :-)

I'm surprised I only have two invalid at the moment, do they get cleaned out just like valid results ?

This one https://csgrid.org/csg/workunit.php?wuid=1308185
Was ruined by these...
https://csgrid.org/csg/show_host_detail.php?hostid=55248 It has: 1 Valid, 530 Error with 4 In progress - not hopeful !
https://csgrid.org/csg/results.php?hostid=55776 - Only did 4 tasks and all failed, not doing any more though !
not forgetting https://csgrid.org/csg/results.php?hostid=51043 (owned by grcpool.com) now upto 1370 invalid tasks with 324 pending and still not a single valid task

This WU has given up https://csgrid.org/csg/workunit.php?wuid=1268474
managed 1 Abort, 2 Timed Out and the usual from this host https://csgrid.org/csg/results.php?hostid=53593

8) Message boards : Number Crunching : Android WU fails with Collatz errors (Message 6273)
Posted 7 Jun 2016 by Profile PDW
I found this result http://csgrid.org/csg/result.php?resultid=13511530
It was on an ARMv7 processor running Android 3.0.31-1304014-user
The task failed with a computation error.

Not far into the output are errors:
Error opening workunit: ../../projects/boinc.thesonntags.com_collatz/micro_collatz_2399303257690906558464_8589934592

Further down there is:
Collatz Conjecture v6.00 Stock for Android
Running Collatz Conjecture (3x+1) application based on version 1.2 by Gipsel
Reading input file ... Error opening workunit
11:38:20 (11228): called boinc_finish

I assume the machine has lost the plot rather than it being a CSG specific problem.

Ok thanks. But I'd like to receive more tasks, I have other projects on my PCs and CSG rarely communicates with the server. I have only 1 core so it takes a lot of time to terminate every task.

You will need to ask Travis about the limit.

Not quite sure I understand the "takes a lot of time to terminate every task".
Perhaps terminate means 'finish' ? (Rather than terminate meaning 'abort')
But you said earlier the tasks may only take 10 minutes which doesn't sound like a 'lot of time'.

There is a project limit of 4 tasks per core so you will only get 4 at a time on your single processor computers.

I would like to discuss the tweet:
Not Just the Koch Brothers: New Drexel Study Reveals Funders Behind the Climate Change Denial Efforthttp://t.co/kGvBACp1EC

The study is about the donations funding the anti Climate Change lobby so that's Denial right ?

The tweet would seem to be about exposing this and is therefore in support of Climate Change but the study is all against Climate Change !

So I want to classify it as Denial and non-Denial and -2 and 2 on the Attitudes scale !

I have seen a number of these sort of tweets with both points of view. How should they be classified please ?

I assume by fixed you mean you have made 1 DNA credit equal to 1 Combined credit for results being validated now ?

Can you expand more on "it was an old credit multiplier I had in there from awhile back" ?

Why wouldn't you just put the Combined credit total back to the sum of the sub-projects for everybody ?

I'm guessing you are running a script at the moment as my DNA scores are updating slightly every now and then but the Combined Credit total is staying the same ?
16) Message boards : Number Crunching : Lots of credits for DNA, but overall total is wrong (Message 5332)
Posted 30 May 2015 by Profile PDW
Hi Travis,

I believe the bonus credit is exactly 6.5 times the original granted credit for a DNA task.

It gets very close to 6.5 using the individual tasks but as they are reported to two decimal places and the overall total has no decimal places it isn't always exact.

If I take the increase in DNA credit (from sub-total figures) I have accrued since switching from Subset and multiply it by 6.5 I get exactly the amount of extra credit I now have.

So knowing someone's bonus credit figure you can work back to the DNA score they had before it started going wrong.

Hope this helps.
17) Message boards : Number Crunching : Loss of credits for DNA, but overall Total is OK (Message 5327)

All the extra credit is coming from the DNA work and not Subset Sum.
The additional credit is way beyond what it should be for the time/effort put in based on previous work for the project.
The calculation that updates the Host total is wrong if the granted credit is correct (which I believe it is).
When it first started happening I don't know, it wasn't happening last year.

So 1 wu later, it was granted a credit of 46.29 which is how much the DNA sub-total went up by but the CSG total went up by 348.

The total for that Host also went up by 348 as reported on the list of computers on the project. Is the Project total calculated from the sum of the Host's totals rather than the sub-project totals ?

Why so much bigger than the previous observation ?

My result took over 9,600 seconds on a slow machine for 46.29 (348).
The previous wu took about 1,100 seconds on a faster machine for 17.36 (130).

By the way, the Free-DC stats for the user I found matched the total score when using 130 and not 17.36 for the DNA result.

Am running a single DNA task but it will be a while on my laptop, it's running at an appropriate snail's pace !
20) Message boards : Number Crunching : Loss of credits for DNA, but overall Total is OK (Message 5322)

Okay, had a look around.

Found a new user with a single DNA task completed with a granted credit of 17.36 (for Work unit 1883664, Task 3916429) but looking at their list of computers (they have 2) only this task was done on a specific PC.

The PC has an Avg Credit of 11.56, and a Total Credit of 130 shown on the Computer list page. So 17.36 has gone up to 130 !

So if you know where this Total Credit figure is coming from I would suspect that is what is also being used to provide the incorrect totals.

Perhaps I should do a single DNA task to see what I get...
