This was cool! One bird flew off right as another flew down to take its place @ 14:18:15 (around 2:30 into the video). Barely a second to do the swap.

As far as I know (Susan could say more), for least terns both parents will incubate the nest, so this is probably the female swapping with the male for the nest.

Yes - both parents incubate for least terns and for piping plovers. Very neat video.
