Was away over the last weekend and the XP computer had a hard drive crash.
It has taken me a couple of days to get things working again (Windows Explorer still doesn't but Firefox does so I have internet access).
Very annoyed at BOINC that I couldn't retain my old Host ID as it was number 107.

Can't really complain about the hard drive as it was made in July 2005 and installed not long after that, so over 11 years of service going mostly non-stop in temperatures in the room of up to 38 degrees Celcius or more during our Aussie summers, it did pretty darn well.
Amazing that I decided to do my first backup in many years last Thursday and the drive failed the following Saturday, so I had a very recent backup.

Have had 3 successful tasks now, looking good.

Thanks for your hard work at this Travis.

There were enough to cause issues when the app kept crashing on XP. :) Pretty surprising!

How old is XP now anyways? I think I remember using that like.. high school or undergrad?

From a recent computer magazine report, there is close to 10% of computers still have XP on them, beating Windows 8.1 at 8% and Windows 8.0 at 2.45%. Win 10 has just over 19% and Win 7 has 49% with Linux trailing at 2%.

So Win XP is very much still out there and being used.
I suspect the Linux users are higher placed than this but it may not be the primary OS that people use.

Notice that XP is about equal to both Win 8.0 and Win 8.1 combined, people just did not like Win 8 at all.

I think XP came about in the year 2002 or there about.

The less said about your President, the better.
