I've fiddled with some visual studio settings, redownloaded/installed windows xp C++ support and have recompiled the windows apps and released them as v0.14. If anyone could confirm if these are working on Windows XP that would be awesome (as I don't have an XP box of my own to test on). Let me know if there are any other issues with these.

If they don't immediately crash with an out of memory error, that's probably a good sign. :)

Sorry for all your hard work, but they crash immediately with an out of memory error.

Same error as before.

Back to the drawing board. :( Hopefully I get a response from the BOINC mailing lists on how to either prevent XP hosts from downloading workunits, or with a fix...

Try compiling Windows XP app using MinGW gcc compiler. I did this with my optimized app and no one complained so far. I used MinGW compiler shipped with Cygwin, but standalone version probably will be fine too. If you will use one from Cygwin, make sure you download and install 32-bit Cygwin version - 64-bit version does not have libs required to link final app.
BTW, 64-bit windows version compiled using MinGW gcc also works fine.

Looks like Dave Anderson has pushed some changes so when I get home tonight i'm going to try them out and see if that works.
