I've updated the applications to version 0.11. I believe I've fixed all inconsistencies so checkpointing and validation should really be working correctly now. It took me a bit of time as I had to write a few things by hand involving random number generation that weren't working across operating systems and then double (or triple check) that everything was running the same everyone.

On my Windows, Linux and OS X systems I'm getting the same results, so I hope this should fix those issues so I can get back to updating the assimilator and getting a steady flow of work going!

Let me know if you're having any issues.

Is there some calculations done at the end? These WUs seem to stay at 100% for several minutes before completing.

There is a little bit of calculation that's done at the end. I'll get this fixed the next time I update the apps.

That's really odd. I've asked the BOINC message boards to see if they have any ideas.

Please confirm that you have app binary in project's folder, and that antivirus does not block it. False virus detections often causes such problem.

Please also try to run this app manually (from Explorer or something like this), this may be also caused by some missing library or symbol in one of them.

I also am getting the same error on my Windows XP 32 bit machine.

I have checked the antivirus and placed blocking bans but still can't run a work unit.

I confirm that the antivirus don't check BOINC directories.

I tried to run the app manually (exact_client_0.11_windows_intelx86.exe).
I get an error message that says this application is not a valid Win32 app and i get an access denied.

There is no problem on Windows 7 32bit hosts by the way.

I think I have a fix for this. Unfortunately I have a large proposal for the university due tomorrow, so I probably won't be able to update the apps until thursday or friday. But that should fix the XP issue -- it seems that VS 2013 turns off compiling for XP by default and I need to fiddle around with it a bit to get it working.

Visual Studio sucks. I love spending more time trying to get things to compile than actually writing code...
