Just a status update. Things are a bit hectic (I'm flying to Memphis today for another research project and will be there for the rest of the week) and the following week is our last week of classes so I apologize with slow movement on our end.

After the semester is over I have quite a bit of updates to make. Top of the list is to get the validator for the new Wildlife@Home image classification up and going (along with working progress bars) and have some top lists for this as well. We have a bunch of cool badges for the project as well.

We're still pushing for climate tweets as well, and it seems like I have a couple bugs to fix.

Please let me know if there are any other things you'd like moved up to the top of my to-do list so once the summer starts I can make sure things are working nicely here!

Hi Travis.

I think getting at least the subsetsum work units working on android devices version 5.0+ would be a good idea. I am sure a lot of members here would be able to donate a lot more to that project using their android devices. SubsetSum is very stable (my experience from running it on my android tablet with version 4.0) and rarely if ever fails.

I hope same can be done with DNA@home work units, however from what I read in the forum posts the issue would be with the amount of RAM these units take. If at all possible I would definitely help with running beta units :)

This is just my opinion and hopefully others would be able to mention their priority ideas.

5.0+ for SubsetSum would be a welcome addition. As far as DNA goes, during the last batch I noticed upload files approaching 20mb on some workunits. Unless one has an unlimited data plan.......

Hi Skivelitis2,

I actually would be one of those lucky people ;)

But if I had to choose which one to prioritize then it would be Subsetsum first. It is a pretty stable work unit as I can see from my old Samsung table and it rarely errors out. Do you know if check pointing would be an issue? The only reason I ask is that I am currently using my 5.0+ device to crunch for World Community Grid and one of the issue was that if I stopped my device (aka use it) then the progress can sometimes be reset back to 20% from 50% (extreme case, but it happened).

Would this sort of issue also be present in SubsetSum? I have not been able to see this on my Samsung table, however I also use it pretty exclusively for BOINC projects.

I am unaware of any checkpointing issues with SubsetSum. All of my Android devices are dedicated crunchers and I check on them only rarely because on occasion WUprop will sometimes hang necessitating a suspension and resumption of the work unit. Because of this, I never experienced any issues on the OET1 work at WCG that so many others did. Wish I could be of more help.

No worries Skivelitis2. I assumed as much. Hopefully CSG would be able to get SubsetSum working on 5.0+ devices. Since these are relatively small and stable work units they would be perfect for an Android OS.
