Hello fellow Biologists!

I’m Kelly Sagen, the newest member of the Wildlife@Home team! Currently, I am being reigned in as “the Badge Creator!” That’s right! Many of you are putting your passion for biology to work and have earned the highest level of badges available and now new badges are on the way!

So, let me introduce a little more about myself. I’m currently wrapping up my Bachelors degree at the University of North Dakota and have been involved with two research projects through Species Pattern and Community Ecology (SPaCE) and San Diego Zoo Global’s Institute for Conservation Research.

Through it all, I’ve had a passion for photography and have taken many pictures over the years! Nature being my inspiration.

I have been drawing upon my past experiences to create some new badges for you to enjoy! Since they are for you, I’d really like your feedback!

Nice concept, 2! But what will remain of it when it is cut down to regular size?
And can you try your hand at SubsetSum badges as well?

Hi Dirk! I understand your concern for scale, I tried really hard to make sure it communicated between sizes. This is roughly the size that will be displayed:

What do you think?

I will do my best at making as many badges as I can for all the programs. I really wanted your input before I started making too many.

Just wondering where the duck (waterfowl) in concept 2 will fit into the Wildlife badge scheme?

As the top current badge is Double Jade-Emerald for 500 Million points which no one is anywhere near as yet.

Just curious.

In the 2 months that I am a member of CSG there has not been a single workunit for Wildlife.

What is the point of creating badges when it is impossible to earn them?

These badges are going to be for events classified by watching video. I'm am currently working on a new version of the wildlife@home application, but I don't want to give an ETA on that quite yet, as the semester is busy and I'm not quite sure when I'll start generating workunits.

OK Questions
Will these badges replace the feathers already earned for "validated seconds viewed" from the combined old and new video format??
(I have a EARNED so far.)
Will any of my Events already submitted be included in the new badge system? Or is this a "re-start" of Events viewed.
I assume we are talking about valid Events?

Events already submitted will count towards these new badges, so no restart!
